This month, we’re making it easier to step inside.

September is about connection: understanding the B Corp movement, meeting the people building B Local Texas, finding the right way to participate, and creating more opportunities for purpose-driven businesses across Texas to learn from one another.

Because infrastructure matters—but only if it helps people belong.

At B Local Texas, we’re working toward a Texas where business contributes to human thriving. That starts by giving people clear ways to connect, learn, collaborate, and contribute.

This month, several of those pathways are becoming real.

A lot of the work you heard about last month is beginning to show up in ways you can actually participate in.

1. The BLTX Membership Program is taking its next step
We’ve been working to make BLTX membership simpler to understand and more useful to the people and businesses we serve.

The goal is not membership for membership’s sake.

It’s a stronger pathway into relationships, learning, visibility, collaboration, and eventually leadership within the Texas purpose-driven business community.

A refreshed way to join BLTX is coming soon. We’re finalizing a simpler, more useful membership experience—and we’ll share the full details, including how to sign up, in an upcoming issue.

2. The next BLTX Leadership Cohort is moving forward
We received some amazing applications from across the state to help build what comes next.

Applicant outreach is complete, and the next phase is interviews and leadership alignment.

The goal isn’t simply to fill titles. We’re building a leadership pathway for people who want to contribute real work, develop alongside other purpose-driven leaders, and help steward the BLTX community.

We’ll introduce the incoming cohort once the selection process is complete.

3. Our B Lab readiness work has reached an important milestone
Behind the scenes, BLTX has spent months strengthening the systems that support our relationship with B Lab U.S. & Canada—from leadership and public engagement to events, communications, and organizational readiness.

BLTX has reached agreement-signing readiness and is working through the final steps of its 2026 B Local Partnership & Licensing Agreement with B Lab U.S. & Canada.

Either way, the bigger story is the same:

We are building the foundation BLTX needs to serve this community sustainably for the long haul.

Whether you’re already part of a Certified B Corp, exploring certification, or simply curious about the movement, this is your opportunity to get oriented.

And there will be time to ask questions.

You don’t need to know the terminology.

You don’t need to already be certified.

You just need to be curious about how business can contribute to something bigger.

Builder Spotlight

A healthy community has signals.

And the more we listen, the clearer some of those signals are becoming.

Across recent conversations and BLTX membership feedback, people continue asking for many of the same things:

People want meaningful relationships with other purpose-driven businesses and leaders—not just another list of contacts.

People want practical education about B Corps, impact, leadership, and how to make their organizations stronger.

Texas is big.

People want ways to connect both statewide and closer to home in Austin, Dallas–Fort Worth, Houston, and other Texas communities.

Businesses want opportunities to share what they’re doing, discover useful partners and resources, and learn from organizations facing similar challenges.

For people who aren’t certified yet, one question comes up again and again:

Where do I start?

That’s exactly why September’s introductory event matters—and why we’re continuing to build clearer pathways through BLTX.

We’ll keep using this section to reflect back what we’re hearing. The goal isn’t to guess what this community needs. It’s to build with you.

Our next community experience takes networking somewhere a little different.

Outside.

Join us for BLTX’s first B Social as we walk Palmetto State Park’s Interpretive Trail, connect with fellow members of the Texas purpose-driven business community, and spend a Sunday morning getting to know one another without the usual networking script.

Think less:

“What do you do?”

And more:

“What are you working toward?”

We’ll gather outside the CCC Refectory — the historic building pictured below — at 10:00 AM. (*Cell signal is limited inside the park, so please note this spot before you head out rather than planning to call or text once you arrive.)

Here’s what we’re watching next.

Once interviews and selection are complete, a new group of leaders will begin helping shape BLTX’s next chapter across marketing, engagement, events, data, regional participation, and organizational stewardship.

November 16–20

BLTX is exploring a combination of virtual and in-person community moments during Global Entrepreneurship Week, with activity being developed across Texas.

Houston, Austin, and Fort Worth are among the regions currently being explored.

More details as plans become firm.

One event in one city cannot serve a state this large.

Long-term, we want more ways for people to find BLTX experiences close to where they live and work—and more opportunities for local leaders to help shape those experiences.

The membership infrastructure we’re building now is intended to create the foundation for deeper peer learning, workshops, collaboration, and other structured programming in the year ahead.

We’ll share those opportunities as they become ready.

Last month was about showing you the build.

This month is about giving you a way into it.
