Moving Forward

More people helping build what comes next

Our incoming 2026 BLTX Leadership Cohort is preparing for a month of learning, connection, and shared planning.

November’s onboarding will help leaders understand the program, clarify their responsibilities, and begin shaping their contributions to the Texas purpose-driven business community.

The work ahead includes stronger community connections, useful learning opportunities, and clearer ways to participate.

We’ll share individual introductions as they’re ready.

What would you like this next chapter of BLTX to make possible? Reply and tell us.

KNOW THE DIFFERENCE

B Local Texas
&
B Corp Certification

The names are connected, but they serve different purposes.

B Local Texas is a community.
We connect people around business as a force for good through relationships, learning, and collaboration.

B Corp Certification is a company certification conferred by B Lab.
Businesses must meet its requirements and complete the certification process.

Participating in BLTX does not confer B Corp Certification.

You can connect with this community while exploring whether certification is right for your business.

Community Pulse

Recertifying in 2027?
Start the conversation now.

B Lab’s updated standards are changing the certification journey. If your business is approaching recertification, give your team time to understand its requirements and prepare.

  • Confirm your company’s recertification pathway and timing.

  • Explore the applicable requirements in B Impact.

  • Identify who will coordinate the work and supporting documentation.

You don’t need every answer today. Start by understanding your next step.

TAKE ACTION

What counts as
a small business?

The U.S. Small Business Administration is proposing changes to its small-business size standards.

These definitions help determine eligibility for federal small-business programs and can affect contracting opportunities.

Business owners can review the proposal and share how the proposed standards could affect their businesses and industries.

Bring your experience to the conversation.

On the Horizon

More ways to learn
and participate

Learning together.
We’re exploring additional opportunities to help our community understand the new B Corp standards. We’ll share details when they’re confirmed.

Deeper participation.
Work on BLTX’s membership experience continues. We’ll share the full invitation once the offering and approvals are ready.

That’s Issue No. 4.

Thank you for helping shape B Local Texas.

Your questions, participation, and willingness to share what you’re learning help this community become more useful to the people it serves.
